It’s that time again: The Dyson New York English Department Ashbery, Cannon, Owens, Willis, Gill, and Rose Creative Writing, Literary and Film Criticism, and Journalism Awards for spring 2014.
If you are an NYC undergraduate English or Film and Screen Studies major or minor, or an undergraduate student in any major who has taken (or is taking) a Pace NYC ENG 223 course, a 300-level ENG or LIT course, or any FSS course, and are enrolled during the current academic year, either in fall 2013, spring 2014, or both, then you are eligible to compete for $5,000 in awards.
$5,000 in awards from the Gerard Cannon, Billie and Curtis Owens, James Rose, Sarah Willis, and Richard Gill funds will be given in fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, screenwriting, literary or film criticism, and journalism. In addition, the David A. Bickimer-Promise of Learnings/Academy of American Poets Prize, established by John Ashbery, will also be awarded in the poetry category.
All submissions must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on Monday, April 7. You may submit entries in multiple categories. For more information and guidelines about each award, click here.
Awards will be presented at the Pace Department of English Writing Awards Ceremony at the end of the semester.
