Lubin School of Business: Combining a History of Excellence with an Entrepreneurial Attitude
With a wide range of programs, Pace’s Lubin School of Business educates students with its unique blend of theory and practice. Lubin is known for its leadership in the accounting industry, its entrepreneurial focus, and its nationally competitive teams. Lubin alumni fill important positions at leading downtown organizations, including the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Reserve, Big Four accounting firms, and Fortune 500 companies.
Since 1986, Lubin’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been assisting businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs free of charge. The Center has worked directly with more than 14,000 businesses, helping them to invest almost $150 million in the area’s economy, and create or save 6,000-plus jobs.
This year, Lubin opened its Entrepreneurship Lab. The lab will foster entrepreneurial thinking and help create jobs in the New York Metropolitan Area.
Lubin also launched a new Center for Global Governance, Reporting, and Regulation, to address the development of global financial reporting standards, regulatory compliance, and governance, and has partnered with the Association of International Bank Auditors to offer the certified Compliance Regulatory Professional Program (CCRP TM).
Students in a Marketing Public Relations course recruited community members to help individuals on the New York Organ Donor Network’s waiting list, enrolling 400 new people in 2011.
Lubin students have been helping individuals, families, and senior citizens prepare federal and state tax returns free of charge for more than 15 years through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. In 2012, students estimate preparing 500 tax returns for members of the local community.
