Dyson College of Arts and Sciences: Addressing Growing Demands

With more than 50 majors in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences, Pace’s Dyson College of Arts and Sciences provides a high-quality liberal arts education combined with preparation for professional achievement. From Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, and Chemistry, to Psychology, Musical Theater, and Communications, Dyson programs are designed to help students improve their understanding of our complex world.

Over the last decade, Dyson enrollments in New York City have grown steadily, bringing an increasing number of students to Lower Manhattan. Dyson has also launched a number of new programs to meet growing demands, including: a new master’s in Management for Public Safety and Homeland Security Professionals, the first Commercial Dance program in New York City, and a new Arts and Entertainment Management minor in conjunction with Lubin. Dyson is also home to a number of centers that conduct research, provide services, and offer cultural events to the surrounding community.

  • The Confucius Institute, the first university-based Confucius Institute in New York City, promotes understanding of Chinese civilization and provides cultural and educational resources and services. It offers courses to both students and the public in Chinese language, calligraphy, painting, dance, martial arts, reading, writing, and more.

  • The Center for Undergraduate Research Experiences manages a number of grant-funded, service oriented programs including AmeriCorps, JumpStart, Upward Bound, and Liberty Partnerships.

  • The Institute of Latin American Service and Studies promotes a variety of activities involving onsite service learning in and relating to Latin America and the U.S. Latino population.
