Pace’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems prepares men and women for success in the dynamic information age. Core to its mission is teaching students to develop technologies that empower people. Through Seidenberg’s service-learning courses, more than 700 students each year use technology to help K-12 students, people with disabilities, the elderly, small business owners, and non-profit organizations.
Seidenberg also strengthens the bonds between the University and members of the New York City technology community through a number of educational and social events, including: hosting the annual Gotham Ruby Conference (GoRuCo); the annual Leadership and Service in Technology Awards; and a number of Tech Talks open to the community. Recently, Seidenberg opened the doors to its new CyberSecurity Insitute. Deemed a National Center of Academic Excellence for Information Assurance Education by the National Science Foundation—the first school with this designation in the New York Metropolitan Area—Seidenberg partners with the NYPD, Department of Defense, FBI, and others to develop secure information systems and protect victims of cybercrimes. n
