River Semester – Register Now for Fall 2010

Are you looking for an exciting, intensive semester experience, but don’t want to leave New York?

Do you want to learn more about this place called the Hudson River Valley by exploring it first hand?

Then the River Semester program is for You!

A semester-long, interdisciplinary curriculum for approximately 15 - 20 students who will take a suite of courses that provides a diverse and complimentary learning experience through a combination of field, experiential and classroom coursework.

River Semester offers students a deep understanding of the unique setting in which Pace University is located and the pivotal role this region has played in local and global affairs, particularly in relation to the environment.

Andrew C. Revkin Joins Pace Academy


Andy Revkin, one of the most influential and respected reporters on the environment, has joined the staff of Pace Academy.

 In his new role, as Senior Fellow for Environmental Understanding, Revkin will research, write, and teach about climate change, the environment, and the issues of sustainability and population.

The Pace Academy is a University-wide center with internationally known faculty members who concentrate on national and global environmental issues such as the water crisis and climate change.

Advancing Our Regional Foodshed: The Role of Higher Education–Oct. 15-16
The 2010 Consortium meeting and conference will bring together small-scale family farms; chefs/restaurant owners; agriculture policy experts; farm-to-table non-profits; researchers and others to foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary dialogue about our foodshed. Details.

On March 24, 2010 the greenest communities in Westchester were presented Green Star Awards based on results of environmental assessments done by Pace students in partnership with Grassroots Environmental Education.
