Radhika Chopra
BBA, Finance and Marketing     
Lubin School of Business
                       
Radhika Chopra is a member of the dean’s list and a recipient of the Urban Financial Services Coalition New York Scholarships and the Pace Incentive Scholarship. She is an exemplary student and a leader. Growing from vice president to president, and later student advisor to Women in Corporate America (WICA), which seeks to further the interests of women in the corporate world, she is an active member of the business community at the University. Chopra worked to develop and alliance between New York Women’s Agenda and WICA. She was a student leader for Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP).
 
In 2008, Chopra chaired the Lubin Spring Banquet. She has also served as a University 101 peer leader, as director of professional events of Beta Alpha Psi, Iota Lambda Chapter, and on the planning committee for SDACA’s Leadership Conference in 2008.
 
Additionally, Chopra has volunteered for ASPIRE, Sanctuary for Families, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Society, and Meals on Wheels.
 
Chopra has held internships at prestigious organizations DC Trading Capital Partners, Bloomberg Tradebook LLC, Lehman Brothers Inc., and Oppenheimer & Co. She will be starting as a business consultant this coming September with a mid-size consulting firm, SMART Advisory Business and Consulting.

Michael DeRario
BA, Business Administration, Marketing, with a minor in Media and Communications
Lubin School of Business
                                   
Michael DeRario is a dean’s list student in the Pforzheimer Honors College, Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society member, and an active member of the community.
 
DeRario was president of the UNICEF C.H.I.L.D. Project at the University, which promoted the development and protection of the world’s children through fundraising and education, as well as a volunteer for the nonprofit organization SurfAid, dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering through community-based health programs.
 
He has distinguished himself as a leader through his role as a University 101 peer adviser, as a teacher’s   assistant for Psychology of Cultural Diversity travel course to Barbados, and as president of the Golden Key International Honor Society and Vice President of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Additionally, he was student coordinator of the ASPIRE Program, which mentors high school and college students.
 
He is the recipient of both a Presidential Scholarship and a Pforzheimer Honors College Research Grant.
 
DeRario plans to pursue a marketing career, focusing in production end and/or media and communications. He is eager to gain field experience before attending graduate school in the future.

Charko Patterson
BBA, Management
Lubin School of Business
 
As the founding President for the Lubin Business Association and president of the Pace Management Society, Charko Patterson embodies the drive and motivation that make an effective leader. The Pforzheimer Honors College student knew he wanted to work in human resources after working at his father’s business for two years before starting college. His interest in human resources stems from his philosophy that people are the most valuable component of any organization.
 
Patterson has won a variety of awards and scholarships at the University, including the Lubin Alumni Achievement Award Scholarship, the President’s Scholarship, and the Lubin Golf Classic Scholarship. He was also Treasurer of the Golden Key International Honor Society, and a member of two other honor societies: Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Alpha Chi Honor Society. Additionally, he was a site leader for Service for Peace, a student organization committed to community service projects.
 
In order to gain valuable field experience, Patterson was part of Pace’s search team for vice president of human resources. This role allowed him to interface with top-level administrators.
 
Patterson hopes to one day hold a job in human resources for a large technology firm such as Google or Verizon, or work for a nonprofit organization.

Amanda Ferrandino
BA, Sociology/Anthropology and Women and Gender Studies
Dyson College of Arts and Science
                                   
In addition to her exceptional academic performance, Amanda Ferrandino is an international advocate for women and children. The Pforzheimer Honors College student and Fulbright Award winner has volunteered abroad as a teacher’s assistant for Cross-Cultural Solutions at Divina Misericodia in Lima, Peru and for the International Partnership for Service Learning and Leadership in Kolkata, India.
 
She is co-founder and president of Keep a Child Alive, which raises funds for African children and their families who have been affected by AIDS/HIV, a student leader of the Free Speech Forum, a University 101 peer leader, and a member of the Sexual Assault Policy, Prevention, and Programming Committee. She was also a volunteer with Global Studies Association and worked as a student ambassador while participating in the Semester at Sea program.
 
Additionally, Ferrandino has served as a teacher’s assistant for courses: The Impact of War on Women and Children and International Issues on Child Protection.
 
She is an Honors Thesis Grant Recipient, a recipient of the Project Pericles Leadership Certificate, and a Presidential Scholarship Award winner.
 
Ferrandino is currently completing her position as a research coordinator on immigrants and health care at the New York Immigration Coalition. She is using her Fulbright Award to live in Bangladesh and study the effects of women after who have been the victim of sex trafficking. She intends to return to higher education to receive a master’s in public service and/or NGO Management and work to combat sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

Atalya Eve Kozak
BA, Environmental Studies with a Certificate in Latin American Studies
Dyson College of Arts and Science
 
Atalya Eve Kozak is a dean’s list student who has volunteered globally (in India, Peru, Israel, and Honduras) and locally on issues including the environment, and hunger and homelessness.
 
Her campus activities include serving as student outreach coordinator for the Center for Community Outreach, a member of Project Pericles Leadership Program, and holding the position of faculty assistant for Civic Engagement (FACE) with Project Pericles. She has received a Jefferson Award and the Project Pericles Leadership Certificate.
 
As an environmental advocate, Kozak interned for the Pace Green Roof Project and the Venezuelan American Association.
 
With her passion for international issues, Kozak has studied abroad at both Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel and in Cuzco, Peru through ProWorld Service Corps.
 
Kozak’s local volunteer experience includes St. Xavier’s Soup Kitchen, Hamilton Madison House, Meals on Wheels, Sanctuary for Families, Yorkville Common Pantry, Park Clean up, Earth Day, and the Coalition for Sustainable Africa. She has also volunteered as part of a mission to India for Operation Smile, an international nonprofit organization.
 
Kozak is currently completing her final semester studying abroad at the Ben Gurion University in Israel. She plans to continue studying in Israel toward her master's degree in city and regional planning, concentrating in sustainable techniques and practices in development. Foremost, Kozak aspires to be a student and an educator, and hopes to become a city planner.

Samantha Mann
BA, Applied Psychology
Dyson College of Arts and Sciences
 
Pforzheimer Honors College student Samantha Mann is the recipient of both a Presidential Scholarship and a Chazen Foundation Scholarship. Mann is a dean’s list student, and a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society and the Golden Key Honor Society.
 
Mann has dedicated countless hours giving back to the University and the surrounding Pleasantville community. She has served as a resident assistant, worked as a University tour guide at the Welcome Center, and was a member of the University’s UNICEF C.H.I.L.D. Project.
 
Her community service spans a variety of roles and organizations: child counselor intern at Northern Westchester Shelter for survivors of domestic violence; senior residential habilitation assistant for A Very Special Place, Inc., a network of programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities; and volunteer for the Pleasantville Cottage School, a residential treatment center for emotionally troubled youth. Mann has also planned the Pleasantville Hunger Banquet event for the past three years, which raises awareness about world response to hunger and poverty.
 
It was after her internship at Devereux Millwood Learning Center, a school for autistic children, that she realized she wanted to become a special education teacher. Mann plans to attend graduate school in the fall to become a special education teacher.
