Request for Proposals: Periclean Faculty Leadership Program
Deadline: February 1, 2010
The National Project Pericles Office, in conjunction with The Teagle Foundation and the Eugene M. Lang Foundation is requesting nominations from Periclean colleges and universities for faculty participants in the Periclean Faculty Leadership Program. One grant in the amount of $5000 will be awarded to a faculty member at each Periclean Institution. The first class of 30 Periclean Leaders will be selected by April 2010 and will begin their fellowship in April 2010. The fellowship will end in December 2011. At the campus level, we anticipate that the Periclean Leader will serve as a model for other faculty at their campus and will serve as both an advocate and thought leader for campus civic engagement activities. At the national level, the Periclean Leaders will achieve a broad impact by presenting their work to hundreds of their peers. Half of the grant will be awarded when the Periclean Faculty Leaders are announced and half after the Faculty Leader completes all required activities including the evaluation.
Proposal packages must be emailed to mmurphy@pace.edu by February 1, 2010. In addition, a hard copy should be submitted to: Dr. Mary Ann Murphy, Director of Project Pericles at Pace University.

Project Pericles Faculty-Student Research Grant
Pace University’s community based learning initiative, specifically, its Civic Engagement and Public Values (AOK1) course requirement has been extremely successful and has led to Pace University receiving a Carnegie Foundation designation for both Community Partnerships and Curricular Engagement. As a consequence Project Pericles at Pace solicits proposals for faculty-student research projects that investigate important social issues.
