Edwin G. Michaelian Municipal Law Resource Center
The Edwin G. Michaelian Municipal Law Resource Center of Pace University (MLRC) is a legal research and reference center for local governments in New York State. The Center’s objective is to assist municipal officials and attorneys in resolving their basic organizational and operational problems through legal research, consulting services and management studies. Expert assistance in these endeavors is provided by the Michaelian Institute for Public Policy and Management and the faculty of the Department of Political Science/Program of Public Administration of the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at Pace University.
Research
The MLRC responds to several hundred research requests annually covering all aspects of municipal law. Model laws are also provided to assist communities in drafting their own local legislation. These research materials and memoranda are shared with other municipalities confronting similar problems. Law students research and prepare informational memoranda on municipal law issues.
