International students must complete the same application for admission as domestic applications. There are, however, additional forms and information required from international students in order to be considered for study at Pace University. Pace admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin.

First, complete the requirements stated on these pages:

>> If you are applying as an undergraduate student, click here.

Second, read below for additional steps international students must take to apply to Pace.

  1. 1. Official transcripts: Submit all official transcripts, diplomas, and leaving examination scores from secondary schools and postsecondary institutions. Transcripts are considered official only if they are sent directly to Pace University from the education institution of origin, or are certified as true copies by the student’s Ministry of Education or a U.S. consular office. Photocopies, facsimiles, and notarized copies of academic records are not considered to be official and will not be accepted. Academic records issued in a language other than English are required to be translated and attested to be the institution of origin by a Pace-approved translation agency.

  2. 2. Transfer Student Materials: Transfer applicants must submit course descriptions and degree requirements in English from each postsecondary school attended.

  3. 3. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Students who graduated from a high school in a country where English is not the official language and for whom English is not their first language must submit scores from the TOEFL, or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) that are no more than two years old.

  • In general, a TOEFL score of 570 (paper-based version), 230 (computer-based version), or 88/89 (Internet-based version),
  • or an IELTS score of 6.0 is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into Pace University programs.
  • The TOEFL code for Pace University – New York City is 2635, and 2685 for Pace – Westchester.

The Admission Committee may require additional testing if materials submitted as part of your application raise concerns about your ability to read, write, or speak English sufficiently to meet the demands of your intended program of study. In such a case, or if your TOEFL or IELTS score is below the stated guidelines, your admission will be conditional upon successful completing of an intensive English-language program at the Pace University English Language Institute (ELI) or a similar program approved by Pace’s ELI.

All accepted students are required to take University Placement Exams prior to registration. Students may be restricted to intensive English course work for at least one semester, which may extend the length of time and cost of completing a degree.

4.    Form I-20/Student Visa: To receive a form I-20 from Pace University for obtaining a student (F-I) visa, the applicant must demonstrate that he or she has sufficient funds available to pay for tuition and living expenses for at least one year of study in the U.S. Students must provide evidence of additional financial support of $10,000 per year for a spouse and/or child who accompanies them to the U.S.

Applicants who will require a student (F-I) visa must submit the 2010-2011 Financial Affidavit for International Students. It is recommended that the Financial Affidavit by submitted with the application for admission.

All monies pledged on the Pace University Financial Affidavit for International Students Form must be verified by the following:

  • A letter from a bank on bank letterhead indicating the date, account number, account holder’s name, and amount on deposit in U.S. dollars. The letter must include the signature of a bank official. Bank statements are not accepted.
  • A letter of support from a sponsoring scholarship program, fellowship program, or grant organization.
