Pace University offers students admission based on a variety of factors, such as academics, community involvement, and extracurricular activities. To apply for admission to Pace University, complete the Undergraduate Application for Admission. You may apply online, or download a PDF of the print application. Pace University also accepts the Common Application, which must be completed with a mandatory Pace supplement. Pace admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. All undergraduate applications must include:

  1. 1. Personal Statement/Essay – A 500-700 word statement consisting solely of the applicant’s original work. Applicants may choose to submit a piece of writing on their subject of choice, or choose from one of the choices listed below:

    • A discussion of a personal, local, or national issue
    • An autobiographical account
    • A representative sample of creative ability

    1. 2. High School Transcript of General Equivalency Diploma (GED) – Pace requires that a student’s high school guidance counselor send a copy of his or her high school transcript, or a notarized GED (with test scores) to our Application Processing Center. If an applicant has attended more than one high school, he or she must make sure to obtain transcripts from all schools sent to the Application Processing Center.

    2. 3. Letters of Recommendation – Two letters of recommendation are required, and may be completed by a teacher, guidance counselor, or employer. We recommend choosing someone familiar with the applicant’s academic or professional abilities and experiences. Recommendations must be included with the application, in sealed envelopes (if sent as a paper application).

    3. 4. Standardized Testing Scores – SAT or ACT scores are required for all domestic students. When reviewing test scores, we will take the highest score from each section. We also require international students to submit their scores in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). International students are not required to take the SAT or ACT, but are encouraged to do so, as it will provide eligibility for scholarships. Learn more about these tests by visiting their websites: SAT, ACT, or TOEFL. First-year and transfer students with fewer than 32 completed credits must submit the following:

      • An official high school transcript (with first semester senior grades, if available) or GED diploma and test scores.
      • Official SAT or ACT test scores. Applicants who have been out of school for two or more years are not required to submit test scores.

      5. Application Fee – All applications must include a $50, non-refundable application fee. Payment must come in the form of check or credit/debit card payment. You can contact the Office of Admission or your high school guidance counselor if you need financial assistance in paying the application fee.

    4. 6. Transfer Applicants – Complete steps 1-5 as listed above. In addition, send any college transcripts from schools currently or formerly attended, regardless of whether or not transfer credits are expected. If you completed courses at any college or university outside of the United States, course descriptions will be required. Course descriptions should  be about one paragraph in length and translated in English by a reputable organization; they may be mailed or e-mailed.

    5. 7. Nursing or Theater Applicants—Both the nursing and theater programs have special application due dates. All first-year and transfer theater applicants must submit their application by January 15. All first-year nursing applicants must submit their application by February 15.
