Education:  Professor Epstein holds the following degrees: PhD from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH; MSN from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH; BSN (Nursing) from Ursuline College, Pepper Pike, OH; BA in English Literature from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY; and a Diploma in Nursing from Mt Sinai Hospital School of NY.

Areas of Expertise:  Critical Care Nursing, Research, Nurse Education

Current Areas of Research:  Supporting older adults in intensive care, weaning older adults from mechanical ventilation, transitional care for older adults following ICU admission

Professional Experience:  Professor Epstein recently joined Lienhard School of Nursing faculty staff in 2006. Prior to coming aboard at Pace University, she taught as Associate Professor at Fairfield School of Nursing and Assistant Professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. She is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care. Professor Epstein is an active Committee Member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and she is currently serving on the Editorial Board for Heart & Lung: The Journal of Acute & Critical Care.  In 1994, she began her teaching career as Nurse Educator at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Cleveland, OH. Professor Epstein launched her nursing career in 1969 at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York. She has spent majority of her nursing career in Cleveland, OH, working for Visiting Nurse Association, Department of Health & Human Services, St Vincent Charity Hospital, and Metro Health Medical Center, Department of Trauma and Critical Care.
