The Environmental Center is an educational center dedicated to guiding people of all ages to a lifestyle which is in close harmony with our natural environment. The Environmental Center serves as a resource to Pace and outside community. The Center also works closely with the Environmental Studies Program and the School of Education.
The Center is a focal point of the Pleasantville campus. It adds a rural quality and provides students with a contrast from the New York City campus. Resident wildlife exhibits and surrounding natural habitats create an "oasis" of flora and fauna in a serene setting. This physical presence emphasizes Pace's commitment to a philosophy of environmental education, and the layout provides students with opportunities for hands-on field studies. Enhancing and improving these natural attributes will remain a high priority.
The Center's primary objective is to promote environmental education. It is committed to providing students of all ages with the resources necessary to pursue environmental awareness. Staff work closely with interns from within the University as well as area high school students interested in a structured hands-on experience.
