Opportunitas. To some, it's Latin. To us, it's everything.

Pace University was founded in 1906 as a school of accountancy. Since that time, we have become an outstanding independent, comprehensive New York institution of higher education comprised of six schools and college with nearly 14,000 students.

Our motto is Opportunitas and it is the foundation of our philosophy, by which we mean offering students the opportunity to discover and fulfill their potential, and offering distinguished faculty and an outstanding staff the opportunity to achieve excellence. We provide access to a first-rate education for people who range widely in age, ethnicity, background and academic preparation.

We are proud to tell you that, as an employee of Pace, you would be working at an academic institution that is ranked in the top quarter of all universities in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges Guide. In fact, Standard and Poor's has consistently ranked Pace in the top 11 percent of all colleges and universities whose alumni hold senior-level positions in leading U.S. corporations.

Opportunities for living and working.

Pace University is committed to creating an environment where employees feel inspired, safe and valued. We offer a competitive total compensation program, are steadfast to the achievement of equal opportunity in all aspects of University life and our Human Resources department is available to assist you with personal and work-related issues. We offer living, recreation, cultural, health care and educational options to suit a variety of lifestyles and financial circumstances.

We present the opportunity to choose from two distinct venues - exhilarating New York City or picturesque Westchester County (Briarcliff, Pleasantville and White Plains, New York). Our primary New York City campus is located downtown, across from City Hall, and is in walking distance to several interesting parts of town, including Wall Street, the Financial District, South Street Seaport, Chinatown, Little Italy and Tribeca. Our Pleasantville/Briarcliff campus is 40 miles from New York City and offers a traditional college setting - lawns, trees, ponds and an air of serenity. This campus houses our new state-of-the-art Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness and Recreation Center.

Additional locations include our Midtown Center campus on the illustrious Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan, and only blocks away from Grand Central Station. Graduate and undergraduates courses are offered in day and evening sessions. Our White Plains campus is located on North Broadway, approximately 25 miles from New York City, and is home to the nationally ranked Pace University School of Law and the Judicial Institute, a New York State-sponsored site for the training of judges, which is under construction and will be completed this spring. The Evelyn and Joseph I. Lubin Graduate Center at 1 Martine Avenue, and across the street from the White Plains Railroad Station, houses graduate programs in business, public administration and information technology.

Opportunities for teaching.

Pace University faculty engages in diverse scholarly, teaching and civic activities that serve to create a rich, dynamic learning environment. Our faculty includes dedicated individuals ranging from Fulbright-Hayes Fellows, who trekked with their students through China on an intensive culture-study tour, to National Science Foundation awardees, who are exploring new ways to enhance high-performance Internet technologies. Our faculty consists of prolific scholars who contribute to the national debate of environmental law issues as well as to business and management ethics issues. Our faculty has 440 full-time members and 575 part-time members, including affiliates and professors emeriti.

Opportunities for civic involvement.

Pace University is vigorously involved in the community and has created several exciting initiatives that augment the learning experiences of our students and employees. Three exciting and important initiatives include the Center for Downtown New York, which provides academic, research and civic leadership in the redevelopment of the lower Manhattan community; the Pace Academy for the Environment, a university-wide, interdisciplinary institute with the mission "to use the University's unique role in human affairs to foster policies, practices and ideas that sustain a mutually enhancing relationship between nature and society"; and the Partnership with National Actors Theatre, which will hold its theatrical performances, rehearsals, box office and educational outreach programs at Pace's Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, in lower Manhattan, for the next five years.

Furthermore, Pace is one of ten leading colleges and universities participating in Project Pericles, a program that provides a learning experience that will inspire in students an enduring and active sense of social responsibility and civic interest. We are promoting and facilitating the implementation of initiatives that aid students, faculty and staff in understanding and supporting Pace's long tradition of community involvement. Finally, we are proud to be developing a polling center - the Pace Poll - that will measure public sentiment as well as business-related polling, which could facilitate real estate development in New York City, and beyond.

Pace University. A wealth of opportunities.
