Innovation in Teaching Award

A vital part of Pace University’s learning experience is delivered by dedicated faculty who constantly strive to enhance their teaching. Students benefit from faculty who spark intellectual interest and encourage intellectual growth.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Innovation in Teaching Award for one full-time and one adjunct faculty member at Pace University. The primary purpose of this award is to recognize faculty who explore and implement learning activities that engage, enrich, and expand the learning experience for students. This year’s award will spotlight instructors who clearly demonstrate how they have constructed successful learning outcomes leading to dynamic interactive instruction.In short, we are looking for evidence-based examples of teaching to the learning outcomes. Self nominations are encouraged.
The Application Process
- At the web site please enter the nominee's name, campus address, school, phone and e-mail address.
- At the web site please provide a 50 word bio indicating the nominee's title, school, department and teaching responsibilities at Pace.
- At the web site please write a 200 word description that exhibits exceptional strategies in teaching and learning that you feel warrants the award for innovative teaching. Briefly describe how the faculty member incorporated their stated learning outcomes and show evidence of accomplishment in teaching to the learning outcomes.
- If needed please e-mail a copy of the nominated faculty’s syllabus and/or exercises, and assignments to facdev@pace.edu.
- The nominee must agree to make a presentation at the 2008 Faculty Institute (May 14th and 15th) on the Pleasantville Campus.
Submissions must be made by April 9th, 2008. The winner will be notified by April 30th, receive $500.00, and be recognized at the Faculty Institute.
