Whether your son or daughter loves going to the gym, participating in athletics, needs health insurance, or basic medical care, Pace will help meet their needs. From our state-of-the-art Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness, and Recreation Center in the Westchester Campus to our walk-in health service centers, Pace will make sure they can stay healthy and active.
Health, Fitness, and Recreation Centers
New York City: Students have full access to the campus’ Civic Center Gym at One Pace Plaza, which includes a cardio and weight room. In addition, they may also use the full-size basketball courts to play pick-up games or intramural basketball. Some residence halls also offer complimentary passes to students for nearby gyms and fitness centers.
Westchester: The Goldstein Health, Fitness, and Recreation Center offers students: three basketball courts, one eighth-mile track, full fitness center with cardio machines, Olympic-sized swimming pool, full range of fitness courses, from Japanese swordsmanship to yoga. The Westchester campus is also home to our athletic programs, and a number of intramural sports.
NCAA Division II athletic programs include:
Men’s sports: Baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, lacrosse, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field.
Women’s sports: Basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance, equestrian, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball.
Intramural programs include: Indoor and outdoor flag football, indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, wiffle ball, beach volleyball.
On both campuses, University Health Care (UHC) offers a full range of primary care services to the Pace University community. Both locations are staffed by nurse practitioners (registered nurses with advanced training who are certified to prescribe medication), with physicians as consultants. Services available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families include:
- Health education
- Health assessment with complete physical examination
- Women’s health care
- Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses (such as sore throat, cough, or other infections
- First aid for minor injuries
- Management of chronic health problems such as high blood pressure
UHC is able to bill your insurance company directly. If the insurer does not reimburse UHC for the entire amount of your visit, you will be billed the remainder at a discounted rate.
If students do not have existing health insurance, Pace offers Accident and Sickness Insurance coverage for a fee (New York State requires students to carry health insurance).
Students with existing health insurance may choose to waive insurance, as well. Upon enrollment, Pace will send information regarding waiving university-sponsored health insurance plans.
