Academics: Student Access to Advice and Counsel

As parents and family members, you’ll be reassured to know that every Pace student has ample access to advice from university faculty and staff.

Pace Provost Geoffrey L. Bracket, DPhil (Oxon) recommends parents and family members encourage students to talk to their advisers and professors. “Every student occasionally hits an academic rough spot. Those who take advantage of our academic support services resolve their problems quickly, increase their confidence, and improve their overall college experience. Parents can make a real difference by reminding students to ask for help whenever they need it.”

Support is especially strong for new students. At the beginning of their first year at Pace, all students are paired with an academic adviser to walk them through the rough patches, help them find the resources they need, and work with them to solve problems. After the first year, students typically have a faculty adviser in their major or minor, as well as a professional advisement team in their school or college. Students meet with their adviser prior to each semester to develop their schedules and make sure they are in the right courses for their major or minor.

Finally, every faculty member has office hours for students who want to meet individually with their professors.
