PA Students Recognized for Fundraising

Every year the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) chooses a charitable organization in the city hosting the AAPA annual conference through its philanthropic arm the PA Foundation, and awards a grant towards their mission.  This year, Boston Health Care for the Homeless (BHCPH) was chosen as the recipient.  This nonprofit organization offers access to healthcare for homeless men, women and children in the greater Boston area. The Caring for Communities Award is sustained with fund raising efforts from PAs, PA students, PA Program Student Societies, and partnering organizations.  This campaign provides an opportunity to make a difference for disadvantaged individuals who may face healthcare and social issues.

At the Assembly of Representatives (AOR) meeting, the program received a certificate of recognition for our generous support as one of the top team fundraisers.  Kudos to Andrea Deiker, class of 2016, who spearheaded this initiative which allowed our students to contribute and give help and hope to those in need.
