Dyson College of Arts & Sciences
Go anywhere. Do anything
Find your place in the world at Dyson College of Arts and Sciences. We offer more than 50 majors in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences on both Pace campuses. From Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, and Environmental Science to Psychology, Musical Theater, and Communications; Dyson programs are designed to help you improve your understanding of our complex world.
Connecting theory and experience
In the Pace tradition, Dyson courses focus on the connection between theory and practical experience. Simply put, we make learning relevant to your life. Students of JaimeLee Rizzo, PhD, are researching antimicrobial compounds that can be bonded onto fabrics and may have lifesaving applications for hospital patients. And Performing Arts students got hands-on acting experience in major Broadway productions on tour as well as numerous productions on-campus and off-Broadway.
Our professors are leaders in their field and, more importantly, devoted educators who dedicate time and helping their students to succeed. In every discipline, our faculty are widely recognized as both scholars and teachers. For example, Professor Maria Luskay, EdD, Media, Communication, and Visual Arts, is an acclaimed documentary creator who takes students abroad each year to film award-winning documentaries; Biology and Environmental Science Professor Richard Schlesinger, PhD, has reviewed air pollution issues for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the World Health Organization; and Criminal Justice and Security Professor and Department Chair Joseph Ryan, PhD, is a 25-year veteran of the New York City Police Department and national expert on community policing.
