Extenuating Financial Circumstances

If you or your parents are experiencing extenuating financial circumstances, such as: unemployment, medical expenses not covered by insurance, day care costs, elder care or private tuition for elementary or secondary education costs, we may be able to assist you. The U.S. Department of Education permits financial aid administrators to exercise professional judgment to assist students and families who are experiencing exceptional financial hardships. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) asks for prior year's income information to determine a student's financial need. Your family's current financial status may warrant replacing last year's information with current year's income projections. Fortunately, with proper supporting documentation, we may exercise some authority in making some appropriate changes that reflect your family's true financial status.
