Student Services and University Registrar
Associate Vice President for Student Services and University Registrar
I am pleased to announce that Mr. Steven Johnson has been promoted to the position of Associate Vice President for Student Services and University Registrar, effective immediately. In his expanded role, Mr. Johnson will maintain direct responsibility for the offices of Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Academic Scheduling, Student Information Systems, and Registrar. In addition, he will assist me with various management and oversight activities of the Provost’s Office. These include facility utilization, academic policy, and general operational activities.
Prior to coming to Pace, Mr. Johnson enjoyed a progressive career in enrollment management, student financial services, and student services. He was last employed at Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he was Director of Financial Aid, Scholarship & Student Employment. Previous positions included Dean of Student Services and Campus Director and Dean of Financial Aid at Davenport University, and Director of Operations and Professional Development at Central Michigan University.
Steven earned his BBA in Computer Information Systems from Detroit College of Business and a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Eastern Michigan University. He also is very active in various professional organizations, including his current post as public commissioner for the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). Steven was recently elected as Secretary for the accrediting agency.
His 24 years of experience is evident and valued by Pace. Since his employment, Steven has been instrumental in various University initiatives. There is no question that his superb leadership has yielded tangible results, from our ability to better manage student systems, to improved faculty service, to increased operational efficiency, morale, and professionalism in the Office of Student Assistance. The level of responsibility he has taken on with success and dedication merit his promotion.
I am pleased to have Steven in this expanded role. Based on his contributions during his one-year tenure at Pace, I am confident that Steven will continue to provide quality leadership to the University’s student services and provide administrative support to my office.
Please join me in congratulating Steven on his promotion.
