In a world with many needs and opportunities, the importance of highly-qualified, dedicated, and inspiring teachers cannot be underestimated. The Pace University School of Education is committed to preparing educators who understand children in the context of their families and communities, who recognize the strengths and struggles of each individual, and who believe deeply that each and every child can be a successful learner. Research tells us that the ability to form trusting relationships is a first step to reaching and engaging children in the learning process. But today’s teachers must also be prepared to implement creative instructional tools and technologies that help children from diverse backgrounds and with varied learning profiles to reach high standards. |

The highest value for any educational institution must be the teacher teaching and the student learning. Pace University, in its Mission Statement, endorses this value by considering “teaching and learning its highest priorities.” Significantly, these “highest priorities” of the University are the concepts central to the mission of the Pace University School of Education. |

The School of Education believes that a fundamental aim in education is to create opportunities for individuals to realize their potential within a democratic community. Therefore, we prepare graduates of our programs to be reflective practitioners who promote justice, create caring classrooms and school communities and enable all students to be successful learners. These themes form the conceptual framework for the outcomes of the School of Education programs. |

Pace University’s School of Education provides innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels that prepare classroom teachers, school specialists, and educational leaders. Our programs for classroom teachers prepare teacher candidates to work with children from grades 1 through 12. We have programs that prepare individuals to be curriculum leaders in the areas of special education, literacy, and technology, and programs that prepare educators for leadership roles in school administration and supervision. |
