Certificate Enroute to the Master's
Candidates enrolled in the MST Adolescent program, who have not yet earned a master’s degree and who wish to be certified prior to completion of the MST, may earn a “certificate enroute to the Master’s degree” by completing the requirements of the Advanced Certificate in Teaching. Candidates must complete these 27 education credits and all other certification requirements to be eligible for the Initial Teaching Certificate in Adolescent Education, grades 7-12, in the applicable subject area. Candidates who choose this route must apply for and receive a Certificate Pre-Masters from Pace University and will have 5 years from the time they enrolled in the graduate program to complete the 9 remaining credits for the full master’s degree. The application for the certificate enroute (the pink card) is located in the Office of Student Assistance and should be filed prior to student teaching.
