About The Delany Center for Educational Enrichment


The Delany Center for Educational Enrichment was founded in 1972 as a Developmental Reading Program. During the beginning years, emphasis was placed on elementary level school children from the residential area of the White Plains. Over the years, it has developed into a literacy enrichment center, which challenges and caters to students from all over Westchester. The program is designed to enhance reading, comprehension, and writing skills.

The Center is staffed by certified teachers and has been providing literacy instruction for more than 40 years.

The Center offers:

·         Pre-literacy programs for four- and five-year-olds
·         After school and weekend programs
·         Summer literacy camp
·         Teen Book Club
·         Diagnostic pre-and post-evaluation in reading
·         Private and group tutoring
·         Themed workshops
·         Experienced certified teachers
·         Parent and child literature circles
·         Special events
·         A friendly and supportive environment

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Cost:     $45/hour for private tutoring.
                Program fees vary.
