Annotated Electronic Library on the CISG (CISG Database)
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is the uniform international sales law of countries that account for three-quarters of all world trade. As a service to the world trade community, the Pace University School of Law offers on the Web a comprehensive and current Annotated Electronic Library on the CISG. The Electronic Library includes the following information on the CISG and International Contract Law:

Identification of States that have adopted the CISG;

Texts of the CISG in a variety of languages;

Volumes of material on the CISG’s legislative history;

A bibliography on International Contract Law, containing over 8,000 entries;

The Pace Institute of International Commercial Law also contributes to teaching and scholarship in international contract law through its sponsorship and initiative in the creation of the following programs:

Clive M. Schmitthoff International Essay Competition (with the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary College, University of London). An annual event, Pace's Clive M. Schmitthoff International Essay Competition on uniform international commercial law has over the years attracted responses from scholars from thirty-three countries. Certificates of Merit are awarded to talented students and faculty mentors. Pace has historically stressed the importance of legal writing. The essay event is designed to foster superior legal writing at every institute of higher learning;

CISG Advisory Council (co-sponsored with the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary College). The Council is in place to support the understanding of the CISG and the promotion and assistance in the uniform interpretation of the CISG;

International Law Project (with UNCITRAL and the Moot Alumni Association);

CISG Case Translation Program (with the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary College);

Initiative to create the Global Principles of International Consumer Contracts;

The Institute of International Commercial Law of the Pace University School of Law has created the Global Consumer Law Forum to assemble the leading thinkers and affected parties on consumer law, cross-border e-commerce and alternative dispute resolution to develop the rule of law and systems impacting individual consumer trading (C2C and B2C) in the physical and virtual world, as well as to foster the development of new marketplaces and infrastructure for economic opportunities that will benefit consumers and merchants.
