Research and Work
Pace Law School was one of the first law schools to place major emphasis on environmental law. Over the past 30 years Pace has graduated close to 1,000 lawyers who specialized in environmental law. These lawyers are now employed in every sector, often in senior positions, providing our new graduates with a vast network when they begin their search for their own environmental career.
Many of these environmental alumni return to Pace each February to serve as judges in our National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition giving current environmental students an opportunity to meet and talk with practicing environmental lawyers. Other graduates mentor students in our environmental law externship programs, attend environmental conferences at the law school or participate in environmental career days at Pace.
Significantly, Pace Law is the only law school in Westchester County, and our graduates frequently practice environmental law locally. Having a nearby network of practicing attorneys provides ample opportunity for students to find employment during their academic semesters or for summer internships.
On campus, students frequently work for the various centers housed in the Center for Environmental Legal Studies. Researching for one of Pace Law’s renowned environmental law program institutes is a perfect way to develop as a lawyer and to develop an expertise in one particular field of environmental law. When visiting campus, or when you arrive, our environmental law programs administration and the Environmental Law Society (ELS) keep you informed as to research opportunities as they arise.
