International Law

In a world of growing economic and political interdependence, demand for practitioners of international law continues to increase. At Pace Law School, JD candidates enrolled in our JD program, and visiting students participating in the Pace London Law Program, may earn a Certificate in International Law by completing 12 or more international law course credits. For graduates of Pace Law School interested to earn a Certificate in International Law, please contact Kathy Lambert at the email address noted below for information on the application process.

Pace faculty bring distinguished credentials and professional achievements in arbitration, environmental regulation, trade, human rights, and other aspects of international law to an in-depth curriculum comprising both classroom and experiential offerings. An international law program of study at Pace might also include the semester-long London Law Program, a summer internship at a war crimes tribunal or the opportunity to intern at an international law firm.  Students may also participate in lectures and moot courts sponsored by the International Law Society, and the student-edited Pace International Law Review provides a scholarship forum for students, faculty, and outside scholars.

Requirements

All certificate candidates must complete 12 international law course credits with an average grade of B or better and no grade below C. JD candidates must also maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 to receive the certificate.

Students seeking the certificate must take International Law (4 credits) and may select 8 additional international law credits, which may be completed at Pace or during a semester at the University of London, through fieldwork and independent research, or in an editorial role with the Pace International Law Review.  A completed “Application for Certificate in International Law” form must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office, preferably the semester prior to graduation.  For further information, please contact the Registrar’s Office.
