Q: What is the January Accelerated Program?
A: Pace Law School’s January Accelerated Program, which began in January, 2010, is a full-time program that allows students to graduate within two and a half years instead of within the three years required of the traditional full-time law school curriculum.
Q: How does the program work?
A: The first core semester of law school is completed during the spring semester. The second semester is completed during a 13-week summer session. Students admitted to the January Accelerated Program will then join their second-year law student classmates in the fall of that year and will continue on to graduate in two and a half years.
Q: How do I apply for the January Accelerated Program?
A: Interested candidates can apply online for the January entering class by going to: www.law.pace.edu/apply. The January 2012 application will be available on September 1, 2011 at www.lsac.org.
Q: When is the deadline for applying, and when can I expect to hear an answer?
A: The application deadline for January 2012 is November 15, 2011. Decisions typically take 4-6 weeks after completion of your application.
Q: Will I be at a disadvantage from my peers who are enrolled in the full-time three year program?
A: No. January entering students will be fully integrated into law school life and have access to all the same services and activities available to first-year fall start students, including financial aid, career services, student groups and law review. For January Accelerated students interested in law review, there will be a separate write-on competition after the final exam of the summer session.
Q: What are the median numbers for the LSAT and GPA?
A: Admission into the January Accelerated Program is just as competitive as fall admissions. For the 2011 admit pool, the median LSAT was a 156 and the median GPA was 3.43.
Q: What is the latest LSAT score that will be considered?
A: The last LSAT exam considered for January admission is the October LSAT exam. Pace operates on a rolling admission program, meaning students may still apply and be accepted for enrollment following the November 15 deadline. Decisions typically take 4-6 weeks after completion of your application.
Q: When does this program start in January 2012?
A: Orientation for the January Accelerated Program starts on January 5, 2012. The first day of class is Monday, January 9, 2012.
