Center for Career and Professional Development
Pace Law School's Center for Career and Professional Development and Public Interest Law Center (jointly the "Center") assist Pace Law J.D. and LL.M. students and alumni with a diverse range of needs – from securing funding opportunities for internships and exploring career goals and opportunities, to developing resume writing and interviewing skills. We also work directly with employers looking to connect with motivated, qualified Pace students and graduates. Our career counselors are all experienced lawyers with broad expertise, and are eager to provide you with individualized services and expert advice.
Center for Continuing Legal Education
Founded to train practicing attorneys to better serve their clients and communities, Pace Center for Continuing Legal Education (CCLE) trains hundreds of attorneys each year in local and national topics ranging from substantive legal issues and trial skills to legal writing and office management. Pace CCLE also maintains an Internet site designed for attorneys’ research and continuing legal education needs. Serving primarily the small and solo practitioner, Pace CCLE stands as an example of how Pace University School of Law has truly become a law center for the legal community.
Center for Environmental Legal Studies
Under the auspices of the Pace Center for Environmental Legal Studies, candidates for the JD, LLM and SJD have the opportunity to work directly with Pace Law professors on advanced environmental law research and law reform. Since its inception in 1982, the Center has developed programs in Energy Law, International Environmental Law, and a Long Island Sound Project.
Criminal Justice Center
The Pace Criminal Justice Center generates educational opportunities for Pace Law students and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between scholars, policymakers and practitioners in and outside the Pace community. The Pace Criminal Justice Center provides an environment that supports and encourages creative research, teaching, and discussion concerning the theory and practice of Criminal Law through symposia, colloquia and conferences. The Center will provide a forum in which community members can become involved in criminal justice discussions, and will make legal resources available for those interested in advancing criminal law reforms and promoting the fair and ethical prosecution of criminal defendants.
Energy and Climate Center (formerly the Energy Project)
Founded in 1987 by Dean Emeritus Richard L. Ottinger, a former member of Congress, the center, led by Executive Director Franz Litz, plays a leading role in a national coalition of environmental and consumer advocates who are working to create win-win energy policy solutions for America's economy and environment.
Land Use Law Center
The Land Use Law Center engages law students in understanding and explaining how best to develop and conserve the land. The Center draws on its staff of experts and law students to train local officials in New York State to take an enlightened and balanced approach to shaping land use policies and regulations. Pace Law students work as full-fledged legal associates with responsibility for research projects, publications, outreach, community services, project management and technology.
Public Interest Law Center
The Public Interest Law Center is administered by the Center for Career Development at Pace Law School. The Public Interest Law Center (“PILC”) was founded to centralize Pace Law School’s public interest components and to provide counseling, resources and opportunities for our students and alumni interested in public interest work.
Theodore W. Kheel Center on the Resolution of Environmental Interest Disputes
The Kheel Center is administered by the Land Use Law Center at Pace Law School. It is dedicated to developing a new practice area for attorneys in resolving environmental and land use conflicts. The Center works on environmental interest conflicts of critical importance to communities, states, regions, and nations that require innovative resolution strategies and forums.
Women's Justice Center
The Women's Justice Center represents victims of domestic violence, including battered women, the elderly, women with low income and victims of sexual assault.
