Certificate in Environmental Law

Pace's Environmental Law Program is recognized as one of the first in the country with a fully developed curriculum, and has received one of the highest rankings in the nation as an academic and action center. The Certificate in Environmental Law  is awarded by Pace University School of Law at graduation to students who have completed at least 12 credit hours in environmental law and maintained a 3.0 grade point average in the environmental law classes, at least a 2.5 grade point average, and no grade below a C recognizes the students as being specialists in the field.

Those who wish to complete the certificate in Environmental Law as part of the Juris Doctor are required to take the following courses:

  • Environmental Law Skills and Practice (4 hours)
  • Environmental Law Survey (3 hours)
  • Plus five credits from among the Environmental Law electives.

A number of Pace students each year also earn a Certificate in International Law with their Certificate in Environmental Law.  This is possible because courses focusing on international environmental law also can be counted towards a certificate in international law.
