Josephine Y. King

Professor King is the author of a treatise, No Fault Automobile Accident Law, and cases and materials in The Health Care System and in Legal and Ethical Issues in Health Care, as well as more than 40 articles in the areas of procedure, torts, insurance, constitutional law, conflict of laws and the health care system. Professor King is a frequent lecturer at international conferences on health care issues. She recently was honored as a visiting scholar and lecturer at three law schools in South Africa and has made South African constitutional law a major focus of her research. She was Law Review editor-in-chief and taught at SUNY Buffalo Law School and Hofstra Law School. She has also taught political science, economics, and history at Bryn Mawr. She served as deputy chief of the Appeals Division, U.S. Attorney’s Office, was associate dean of the Law School from 1976-78, and is founder of the School’s Center for Health Law and Policy Studies. She is an elected member of the American Law Institute and Phi Beta Kappa. Professor King teaches advanced Constitutional Law seminars, Conflict of Laws, and Entertainment Law. Professor King participated in the New York State Bar Association's Municipal Ethics Program on May 27, 2004. As chair of her town's Board of Ethics, she is engaged in redrafting the town's Code of Ethics to make it more effective. Professor King is a strong advocate of reform in ethics and tort law. |
