Gary A. Munneke
 

Professor Munneke is the author or editor of numerous books and articles in the areas of law practice management, professional responsibility, legal careers, and lawyer training, including: Materials and Cases on Law Practice Management, Law Practice Management in a Nutshell, Opportunities in Law Careers, The ABA Guide to Legal Marketing, Your New Lawyer, Careers in Law, The Legal Career Guide, Non-Legal Careers for Lawyers, How to Succeed in Law School, The Lawyer’s Handbook, and Barron’s Guide to Law Schools.

At Pace Law School, he teaches courses in Professional Responsibility, Law Practice Management and a Seminar on the Legal Profession. He is an active leader of the American Bar Association, where he currently serves as Chair of the Finance Committee of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, as Chair of the Law Practice Management Section Task Force on the Evolving Business Model for Law Firms, as a member of the ABA Diversity Center governing board. He is also the Chair of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Law Practice Management.

From 2006-2009, Professor Munneke served on the ABA Board of Governors, after a two year term on the ABA Nominating Committee and a six-year term in the ABA House of Delegates. He has also served as Chair of the ABA Law Practice Management Section, Chair of the Section’s Publishing Board, and as a member of the ABA Standing Committee on Publishing Oversight.  He was one of four subcommittee chairs of the New York State Bar Association Task Force on the Future of the Legal Profession. He has previously served as President of the National Association for Law Placement, as New York State Chair of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, as well as a number of other committees for the ABA and other professional associations.

Professor Munneke is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences on topics related to his teaching and writing.

A graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Professor Munneke is a member of the Texas and Pennsylvania bars, and the New York State Bar Association. He is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.
