How to Apply
Applying to the JD Program
Pace Law School’s curriculum systematically integrates theory and practice. The traditional study of legal doctrine and institutions is always measured against the perspectives of legal practitioners. Fusing these perspectives gives Pace Law School graduates an extraordinarily rich and strong basis on which to build a productive, responsible, and rewarding life in the profession.
The full-time faculty and instructional staff of 82 teach all the required courses and most of the elective courses. They have broad experience in law practice, public as well as private, and are actively engaged in legal scholarship.
Students choose from two primary course sequences: the full-time day program and the part-time day program. Full-time students usually complete the 86 credits required for the Juris Doctor in three years; part-time students in four years. The required courses include Civil Procedure; Contracts I and II; Constitutional Law I and II; Criminal Law; Evidence; Property; Torts; and The Legal Profession including Legal Skills.
First-year, full-time students may begin their JD studies in the fall and or spring semester. First-year, part-time students may begin only in the fall semester. November 15 is the priority deadline for January admission and March 1 is the priority deadline for Fall admission. Applications will be considered after the deadlines on a Rolling Admissions basis.

Applying to LLM and SJD Programs
Admission into our graduate programs is competitive, with applicants judged mainly on the strength of their academic record. Environmental law applications are also reviewed for a demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in the field.
SJD applicants should have attained an environmental law LLM with distinction to be considered for admission.
The Graduate Admissions Committee reviews all advanced degree applications. There is no official application deadline for LLM or SJD applicants; however, most admissions, scholarship, and financial aid decisions are made by May 1, and applications received after June 1 cannot be guaranteed consideration.
International students are encouraged to begin their application process as soon as possible, in order to have enough time to secure a visa.
