Judge for yourself

Participation in the Judicial Studies program at Pace gives you first-hand, intimate experience with the legal system from the other side of the bench, where you will observe judicial proceedings and reasoning as an extern in a state or federal court. In addition to observing daily courtroom proceedings, you will actively perform clerkship duties, draft memoranda, and hone your legal writing and research skills.

The Federal Judicial Honors Program prepares students for post-graduate clerkships by placing them in work with federal judges in the US District Court of Appeals and US Court of Appeals. This externship provides an intensive writing experience, as well as an introduction to the workings of the various courts in the federal system, and often leads to selection for federal judicial clerkships upon graduation.
