Knowledge into action

One of the few certainties in any legal case is that its particulars will force an attorney to explore multiple paths at once, leading perhaps to a pre-trial settlement, a courtroom examination of witnesses, or an appearance in appellate court to present a finely tuned legal argument before a judge. Pace Law School provides a number of simulation courses that put you in plea negotiations, on your feet in the courtroom, and at the arbitration table to solve problems and win outcomes in a simulated case.

Everyday legal practice demands not only a vast knowledge of law codes and precedents, but also a full, sophisticated, tested range of expertise. While Pace classroom courses such as Evidence, Criminal Procedure, Prisoners’ Rights, Civil Procedure, and Federal Court Procedure teach you to succeed in simulated and actual legal practice, the simulation courses themselves address all aspects of a potential case, from interview and investigation through strategizing, negotiating, and persuading with both written and oral arguments.

Concurrent with or after completing simulation courses, many Pace students deepen and showcase their developing advocacy skills by participating in intra-school, regional, national, and international moot courts or trial advocacy competitions.
