Leadership and Service

LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE IN TECHNOLOGY AWARD RECEPTION

For the past 11 years, the school has presented a Leadership and Service in Technology Award annually to an individual who best exemplifies leadership in the field of technology, innovation in the development and application of technology to serve people, and commitment to community service and education. Support for the event comes predominantly from the corporate community in New York City and Westchester and is generated through the dedicated efforts of Seidenberg School Advisory Board members.

The award is traditionally presented at a reception held at a well-known corporate venue and the proceeds of the event provide scholarship support to students in need as well as funding for new school-based initiatives. This year's reception was held on June 6 at the Global Community Digital Sandbox, the birthplace of Silicon Alley in lower Manhattan. Charles Costa, CIO, Global Technology Infrastructure, JPMorgan Chase, and Mark Kay, CEO of StrikeForce Technologies, Inc., served as event co-chairs and were assisted by Austin Adams, former executive vice president and CIO, JPMorgan Chase, last year's honoree.

The 2007 award went to Naomi Seligman, best known as co-chair of the influential CIO Strategy Exchange, and senior partner with Ostriker von Simson, Inc. Ivan G. Seidenberg, Chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, Inc., Pace alumnus and Board of Trustees member, and benefactor of the school that bears his name, served as guest speaker. A record-breaking $235,000 was raised at this year's event.
