
Alumni/ae Activity
- The Seidenberg School inaugurated "Tech Talks," a series of talks by faculty about their current research. In March, Professor Cathy Dwyer discussed Internet privacy at Midtown. In April, Professor Dan Farkas made a presentation about Geographic Information Systems.
- Prior to the year-end holidays, Connie Knapp, interim dean, hosted a Winter Reception for alumni, advisory board members and faculty with approximately 35 people in attendance.
- Alumnus Matthew Knell (BS/IS '00) participated as a panelist at the Technology Entrepreneurship Seminar in early December. Matthew also established a bi-monthly "Internet is People" event and invited the school to host it.
- • Many alumni socialized, networked and reconnected at this year's Leadership and Service in Technology event. The event, held at PricewaterhouseCoopers headquarters in Midtown, attracted over 200 people and generated $135,000 for the funding of the school's endowed scholarships and select new initiatives.
- Nearly a dozen alumni assisted at this year's FIRST Tech Challenge robotics tournament held in Pleasantville in February.
- The Seidenberg Alumni Association continued its tradition of presenting Seidenberg Alumni Achievement Awards at the annual Seidenberg Award Ceremonies held in both New York City and Westchester each May prior to commencement. The awards are given to an outstanding undergraduate and graduate student on each campus. This year's presenters were Andreea Cotoranu (BS/IS '04) in Westchester and Aaron Aanenson (BA/IS '09) in New York City.
- In addition, alumni were invited to and participated in many of the more than 25 events hosted by University Alumni Relations that included two leaders in Industry, the first Honors College Reunion, alumni activities at Homecoming, and the annual Holiday Celebration at Metrazur along with multiple PANet events (Pace Alumni Network) like the clambake in Connecticut, Staten Island, Yankee game, and a Recent Alumni Cruise, Those living away from the New York metropolitan area were invited to receptions in Miami, Washington D.C. and Long Island hosted by President Steve Friedman.
