FACULTY MAILBOXES AND MESSAGES

Faculty mailboxes are located as follows:

  • NYC - 163 William Street, Second Floor
  • PLV - Goldstein Academic Center, Ground Floor
  • GC - Graduate Center, Suite 412

All mail and messages will be placed in faculty mailboxes except in Pleasantville where messages will be placed on the message rack on Lovette Esliker's desk.

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS, ROSTERS & GRADE SHEETS

On the day your class begins, check your mailbox for:

  • Classroom assignments
  • Class attendance rosters

The first roster you receive will probably be incomplete. Updated rosters reflecting changes in registrations will be distributed periodically. Compare the students in your class against the roster. If a student's name does not appear on the roster, the student must provide you with proof of registration. Collect names and contact information of students not on your roster for your own information.
Unregistered students are not permitted to sit in on classes.

The week before final exams begin, check your mailbox for:

  • Final grade sheets

Final grade sheets must be returned 72 hours after the final exam or the last class meeting.

Required Copies of Final Grade Sheets:

  • Original - Please hand-deliver to the Office of Student Assistance (OSA).
  • One Copy - for CSIS files
  • Second Copy - for your records (optional upon request)

COURSE OUTLINE (SYLLABUS)

You must prepare a course outline that corresponds to the "official syllabus" for each course. Please submit two copies of your course outline to the Staff Assistant on the campus where you are teaching at the beginning of the semester.

TYPING AND DUPLICATION OF COURSE MATERIAL

Please request all typing and duplication of course materials two to three days in advance. These requests should be submitted either in person or electronically to the Staff Assistant on the campus where you are teaching.

There is no guarantee that last minute requests or large jobs can be done on time. Please do not tell students that they can have copies made or have scanning done by the Administrative Staff, without checking first.

Photocopy Resources
Photocopying resources are limited. You may use the copier at 163 William Street, the 3rd floor of Goldstein, or on the 4th floor of the Graduate Center for small jobs. Requests for larger jobs should be left with a student aide at the front desk. Large handouts for students must be sent out to Document Services for duplication.

Exams to be photocopied must be brought to:

STUDENT AIDES

Our student aides are available to:

  • Word process and prepare envelopes, labels, announcements, etc.
  • Photocopy or refer copy jobs to Document Services
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages, hand out worksheets, mail brochures and other School information
  • Direct visitors/students to correct offices, answer phones, take messages

CSIS SOFTWARE

CSIS Faculty are required to comply with and enforce all Department, School and University policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the IT Appropriate Use Policy and the Academic Integrity Policy as well as copyright (fair use guidelines and permission requirements) and contractual restrictions on the copying and use of University-provided software.

CSIS software requests requiring new purchases must be cleared with your department Chair.

Please forward all software requests to csis@pace.edu

Include your name, department, class number, software title and version. If there are comparable packages that you can use please list them in order of desirability.

COURSE EVALUATIONS

New York City
At the end of each semester, course evaluations are administered by a graduate assistant or other staff member. Please leave the room for 15 - 20 minutes to allow your students to complete the forms. Ask a student in the class to return the evaluations to the CSIS office. You are not to do so yourself.

Pleasantville
At the end of each semester, staff members will administer course evaluations and return them to the Dean's Office. Please leave the room for 15-20 minutes to allow your students to complete the forms.

Graduate Center
At the end of each semester, a graduate assistant will give the course evaluations to a student in the class to administer at the beginning of class. The student will sign and seal the envelope containing the evaluations and a graduate assistant will pick it up during the class break and deliver it to Security.

TO USE TECHNOLOGY-EQUIPPED CLASSROOMS, LABS, AND VIDEO CONFERENCE FACILITIES

Requests to use a DoIT supported Lab should be made through Wilfredo Pena(NYC), Eda Bueti (PLV) or Greni Francisco (GC).

New York City
Please note that the Information Technology Department Labs and the Electronic Classrooms are located at 1 Pace Plaza. There is also a small tutorial lab located on the second floor in 163 William Street.

USE OF 3RD FLOOR Information Technology LABS
- Rooms E313, E314, and E315: There are three Technology Systems computer labs on the third floor of Pace Plaza. Technology Systems courses have priority in the use of these labs. Once courses are scheduled, others may use them, but they must contact Wilfredo Pena prior to the beginning of the semester with the course, dates, times, number of students, and software to be used. Every attempt will be made to accommodate these needs.

USE OF ELECTRONIC CLASSROOMS W206 & W205:
W206 & W205 are equipped with a variety of instructional equipment (PC, projection and sound systems, Altris, Robotel) which you may want to use. Please contact Wilfredo Pena to reserve these classrooms.

VIDEO CONFERENCE FACILITIES
- 163 William Street, Room 236 and 1 Pace Plaza, Room 319:
Reservations should be made through Wilfredo Pena.

Pleasantville
USE OF GOLDSTEIN LABS - Rooms 300 and 315:
Requests to use G300 or G315 should be made by calling (914) 773-3396 or (914) 773-3662.

VIDEO CONFERENCE FACILITIES
- Goldstein, Room 314 and Miller, Room 16:
Reservations should be made  by calling (914) 773-3396 or (914) 773-3662.

GRADUATE CENTER LABS
- Rooms 414, 418, and 420:
Requests to use any lab in the Graduate Center should be made through STET.

VIDEO CONFERENCE FACILITIES
- Room 406 and Room 509/511:
Reservations should be made through Matthew Poli or Greni Francisco.

EDUCATIONAL MEDIA EQUIPMENT

PLEASE NOTE (ALL CAMPUSES):
In order to request Educational Media equipment, you are required to complete a Classroom Equipment Request Form from the Educational Media Web site (available only on-campus).

PARKING REQUESTS

New York City
Parking requests can be made for the semester or on an as-needed basis. Please submit parking requests to Wilfredo Pena at ext. 11687. Requests cannot be made on the same day that parking is needed. Please call the Administrative Staff (ext. 1687) to find out if your request has been approved.

Pleasantville
The form to apply for a parking decal, an Application for Car Registration, can be obtained from the Finance and Administration Web site (available only on-campus) or from Security in the Goldstein Center. Please return the form along with your car registration to Security in the Goldstein Center.

Graduate Center
Full-Time Faculty: A parking card may be requested through Greni Francisco in the Dean's Office.
Adjunct Faculty: Parking tickets are validated at the Security Desk.
