Students' Learning Experiences in STEM Using Robotics

Purpose:

The student learning experience in STEM subjects is vital in ensuring sustained growth in the uptake of these key disciplines. Furthermore an excellent learning experience ensures that students developed the right skills at the time of graduation and beyond through continued professional development. The primary purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum for students to share their learning experiences in STEM using robotics and promote students’ interest and involvement in STEM subjects.  Another goal is to interconnect people in business, higher education, community organizations, cultural institutions and K-12 schools to design, develop and demonstrate innovative, sustainable and transferable STEM learning experiences using robotics.

  • Listen to Westchester middle, high school and university students describe their LEGO learning experiences
  • Learn how to connect STEM disciplines using robotics to real-world topics
  • Acquire information on: funding strategies, grant writing, and STEM scholarships for students
  • Participate in a WeDo, Mindstorms, or Tetrix hands-on workshop designed for kids and adults
  • A chance to win a free WeDo or Mindstorm set and software valued at $300.00
