GenCyber Workshop for High School Teachers—FAQs
What out of pocket expenses will the program require of us?
Participants will receive a $1,250 stipend upon workshop completion. In addition, the workshop will offer breakfast and lunch. Participants will pay out of pocket for all other expenses. It is estimated that the stipend will cover out-of-pocket expenses related to attending the workshop, including but not limited to airfare, train tickets, gas, etc.
If you require lodging on campus, please indicate so on the application form. The program will provide lodging on the Pace Pleasantville campus, free of charge, for participants who are outside the commuting distance. Such accommodations are limited to 12 participants.
I am very interested in the GenCyber teacher workshop, but I cannot attend on certain days. Can I still apply?
You are welcome to apply but you will be placed on a waiting list as participants who can attend the entire workshop will have priority. In addition, your stipend will be pro-rated to reflect the number of days in attendance.
How will the applications be reviewed?
Applicants who do not send in a complete application package will not be considered until the application is completed. Applicants who cannot attend the entire workshop will be placed on a waiting list, and will only be admitted if space permits. Please apply as soon as possible if interested; complete applications will be reviewed on a first-come first-served basis. Space is limited to 24 participants.
At which Pace University campus will the workshop be offered?
The workshop will be offered on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University, one-hour by train from New York City. Directions to the campus can be found here.
What is the daily workshop schedule?
The daily schedule is 8:30AM – 4:30PM. Breakfast is served at 8:30AM, and classes start at 9:00AM. The workshop runs on the following days: July 12th and 13th, and 16th through 20th. The workshop will break for the weekend on July 14th and July 15th. Visitors from out of town are welcome to explore New York City over the weekend.
