THE #WESTCHESTERSMART MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT BOWL:
REGISTER FOR THE 2017 CHALLENGE!
Have an idea for a mobile app? Learn design and development skills from the experts and compete against the area’s best young techies in the 3rd Annual Westchester Smart Mobile App Development Bowl. The mission—should you choose to accept it—is to develop an app that improves the quality of life for people ages 65 and up. Whether that means creating an app that helps people stay healthy, schedule caregiver appointments or anything in between, the possibilities are endless. Only one team will be crowned champion, but cash awards, tech gear, paid internships, and much more are all up for grabs.
There is no entry fee. The competition will officially kick off with a pep rally and tech workshops on February 3!
How does it work?
- Students must compete in teams (two person minimum). More than one team from the same school is permitted. Students may form and register independent teams without school affiliation. Students can also register as individuals, and Pace will assist them in forming a team.
- Once registered, teams will be notified of important dates.
- In the spring, a panel of expert judges will score and determine the top mobile apps. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded during an event at Pace University’s Pleasantville Campus.
In order to participate and be eligible for prizes in the Contest, students must sign the following consent forms: (1) Parent/Guardian Consent Form; and (2) Copyright Assignment Form.
Parent/Guardian Consent Form: If the student is under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must provide consent for the student in question to compete.
Copyright Assignment Form: To compete in the contest, the student agrees that the Contest organizers own the rights to any apps being submitted to the Contest. The submitted apps will be made freely available to the public once the Contest is over.
Please download, sign, and return the documents to Jill Olimpieri, Program Manager, Pace University. Forms may be submitted in one of two ways:
