Stage and Screen

Pace Performing Arts gets icy hot with David Hare’s edgy play The Blue Room on December 11-15 and Film and Screen Studies students present their semester's work on December 13 in NYC.
STAGE
The Schaeberle Studio on the NYC Campus is about to get sexed up, as Performing Arts students present David Hare’s The Blue Room, a play about 10 characters and their sexual encounters. Freely adapted from Arthur Schnitzler’s La Ronde, which was closed down by the Vienna police and consequently caused Schnitzler to be prosecuted for obscenity, The Blue Room was originally performed in London featuring Nicole Kidman and was called “pure theatrical Viagra” in a review by the Daily Telegraph’s critic Charles Spencer. Grant Kretchik, director of the BFA Acting program at Pace, will direct the production.
Performances will be held on December 11-13, 8:00 p.m. ; December 14, 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and December 15, 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. $6 student tickets are available through BrownPaperTickets. Adults are $12.
SCREEN
From stage to screen, Dyson Film and Screen Studies students have been hard at work producing fims all semester. On Friday, December 13, at 7:30 p.m., stop by the Bianco Room on the NYC Campus to see the final results at the annual Student Film Screening presentation. Short films, which have all been written, produced, directed, and edited by Pace students, will cover all genres. The projects were photographed on motion picture film and finished digitally. Students presenting work are Michael Rubin, Lidia Russkova, Lucas Tremper, Mathias Watson, Ben Davies, Alex Breslau, Emily Lee, Gabriella Cascio, Amin Nasiri, Casey Denaro, Robyn Winters, and Richard Alvarez. Stop by for a short film break between studying! Refreshments will be served.
