Welcome from the Director
Founded in 1906, Pace University is a private institution of higher education with campuses in both New York City and Westchester County in the State of New York. There are six individual schools/colleges ranging from arts and sciences, computer science, law, business, health professions, and education. The mission of the University is to provide a diverse and talented student body with the opportunity for the best quality education with an emphasis on professional education embedded within the liberal arts.
As Director of Pace University’s Summer Scholars Program, I have the great pleasure of playing a part in the strong commitment Pace University has to its students. We are a university heavily focused on teaching and learning and our motto is Opportunitas, which affirms the essential purpose of higher education. That is, Pace University is a place of opportunity for our students.
In keeping with that tradition and philosophy, I am proud to announce the 2014 Summer Scholars Institute. This groundbreaking program is a selective course of study designed for exceptional rising juniors and seniors eager to experience the atmosphere of college. It is a chance for capable and motivated students from around the country to study in a metropolitan university setting in a program designed to connect the best of in-class and out-of -class experiences.
The 2014 Summer Scholars Institute will run from July 13th to July 26th at our New York City Campus in one of the finest cities in the world in one of the finest locations in the city, nestled between City Hall Park and South Street Seaport. Our dedicated faculty and staff have prepared the most interesting and challenging courses of study for you. The courses are designed to illuminate the minds of prospective college students and the educational experience is matched with active exploration of the New York City cultural experience with events specifically designed for your chosen curriculum. This summer, we are offering six different disciplines in which students can major during the two weeks. Each track contains courses taught by Pace University faculty.
The cost of the program is dependent upon your status as a resident student or a commuter student. Resident student tuition fee, which includes instruction, materials, dormitory, events, and two meals per day, is $2400.00. Commuter student tuition fee, which includes instruction, materials, events, and one meal per day, is $1,400.00. Scholarships will be offered to eligible candidates. We invite you to download the application from our website and please follow the directions to ensure submission is processed in a timely fashion.
All applicants should have at least a high school average of 85. Applications are due on or before June 13th, 2014. Because of the success of this program, admission is competitive. If you have any questions, please call our Offices at (212) 346-1192, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
