It sponsors workshops for faculty to facilitate the integration of international topics throughout the Lubin graduate and undergraduate curricula. The CIB offers in conjunction with the Lubin academic departments the Lubin Interna- tional Field Study Program, which enables students to incorporate travel and study in different countries and regions of the world as part of their course requirements. Currently, International Field Study courses are offered at the undergraduate level in finance, management and marketing. In addition, through the center, Lubin maintains student and faculty exchange relationships with many foreign business schools and companies. The CIB also provides seminars and training programs for visiting executives and student groups from Asia, Latin America, Canada and Europe and is responsible for developing and maintaining Lubin School relationships with international educational institutions, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and business organizations. The center also serves as a clearinghouse for information on international business seminars, lectures and other events and programs offered by other organizations in the New York metropolitan area. CENTER FOR APPLIED RESEARCH Director: Michael Szenberg Associate Director: Surendra Kaushik Assistant Director: Diana Powell Ward The Center for Applied Research is responsible for the organized research within the Lubin School of Business. It provides editorial assistance to faculty members and students engaged in approved research and development projects. The director appoints graduate research assistants who are assigned to faculty members working on research projects. The center acts as coordinator for grant applica- tions to foundations and government agencies and pub- lishes an ongoing series of working papers, monographs, and business case studies, and MBA Papers of Distinction, as well as a reprint series of Lubin faculty articles. The center also sponsors a “Scholarly Colloquia” series, which provides a forum for the presentation, discussion, intellec- tual sharing, and critiquing of ongoing faculty research. WILLIAM C. FREUND CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF SECURITIES MARKETS Director: William Freund The William C. Freund Center for the Study of Securities Markets was established at the Lubin School of Business to encourage research on equities and to organize security industry conferences on various aspects of securities markets. Through its activities, the center has established important links between the Lubin School of Business and leading markets and financial institutions in the U.S. and worldwide. It sponsors faculty and student research on U.S. and international equity market problems. The center hosts an annual securities industry confer- ence, which has attracted top Wall Street executives both as speakers and attendees, and corporate sponsors includ- ing the New York Stock Exchange, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and a host of other financial institutions. The center also offers a number of student scholarships each year made possible by the proceeds of the Annual Securities Conference. CENTER FOR GLOBAL FINANCE Director: Jorge Pinto The Center for Global Finance at the Lubin School of Business responds to the increasing globalization of finance and markets by building on the School’s Core competencies in finance and international business and through the creation of innovative academic and profes- sional programs. The Lubin School enjoys a strategic location in the world’s financial capital; an extensive curriculum in finance, economics, and international business; and a record of successful alumni in the financial services industry. The center enhances these strengths and serves as a vital link between the Lubin School and the global finance community of academics and professionals. The center sponsors the Global Finance Leadership Forum and the “At the Center” speakers program. SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER Director: Ira Davidson The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was established at Pace University in October of 1986 to assist existing small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.
