Miranne Jr. Communication Center The Communication Center is a three-room complex consisting of two studio/classrooms and a central control room. The center, located in New York, is a fully equipped audio-video recording and playback facility. It is used for the recording of performances of students in speech communication classes. COMMUNICATION STUDIES MAJOR Bachelor of Arts (NYC) Communication Studies majors choose one of two areas of concentration: public/professional studies or media studies. The Public and Professional Studies program is geared for those interested in careers in organizational communication, law, politics, government, labor unions, human relations, corporate-government relations, and fundraising, who will find this an ideal major. The Media Studies program emphasizes the fields of communication as they apply to mass media. The program qualifies graduates for entry-level positions in broadcasting, advertising, sales, marketing, politics, and public relations.
