ENGINEERING Engineers work at the interface of scientific theory and practice to solve society’s technical problems. Students with strong quantitative skills as well as an ability to visualize solutions may find Engineering to be a rewarding profession. Joint Programs with Manhattan College Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (PLV) Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (PLV) Pace University and Manhattan College offer two five-year programs. One leads to a bachelor of science in physics from Pace and a bachelor of electrical engineering from Manhattan. The other leads to a bachelor of science in chemistry from Pace and a bachelor of chemical engineer- ing from Manhattan. Each program requires three years of study at Pace, and two years at Manhattan and summer courses. Application for transfer is made by the student during the third year at Pace. Joint Programs with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Science (PLV) Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Science/Master of Engineering (PLV) Bachelor of Science/Master of Science (PLV) Pace University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute offer a number of five-year programs combining either Chemis- try or physics with engineering. The programs are as follows: biomedical engineering and chemistry; chemical engineering and chemistry; environmental engineering and chemistry; industrial and management engineering and chemistry; materials engineering and chemistry; aeronauti- cal engineering and physics; civil engineering and physics; computer and systems engineering and physics; electrical power and physics; electrical engineering and physics; and nuclear engineering and physics. Options 1.  Three years + two years. The student completes three years at Pace, then two years at Rensselaer’s School of Engineering. The student receives a B.S. from Pace and a B.S. degree with a major in Engineering from Rensselaer. 2.  Three years + three years. The student completes their studies at Pace through the junior year, and then three additional years at Rensselaer. This program leads to a bachelor’s degree from Pace University and the B.S. and M.E. degrees from Rensselaer. 3.  Four years + two years. Under this option, a graduate of Pace University enters the School of Engineering at Rensselaer for graduate work leading to an M.S. degree in one of the engineering specialties.
