LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES MINOR PROGRAM This is a multidisciplinary program that integrates courses in history, economics, modern languages and cultures, anthropology, and fine arts. New offerings in environmen- tal studies, English, sociology and psychology and a new, interdisciplinary portal course (LAS 101) combining the perspectives of history, modern languages, politics and economics are also planned for the future. This program provides students with an awareness, sensitivity and grasp of Latin American culture and institutional structures necessary to be effective practitioners of a variety of disciplines: business careers in international management, marketing, accounting and world trade; postgraduate work in fields such as Latin American history, political science, sociology, anthropology, languages, economics, and diplomacy.
