Minutes of the Pleasantville/Briarcliff

Announcements:

CLOUT Toy Drive – 20 students still not accounted for - the deadline is 12/12.
Irina Katz told us the audit has been signed off for 06-07. Pace has met all requirements. The annual report can be viewed on the Finance & Administration website.

Treasurer’s Report:

* There are no changes this month

Committee Reports:

Benefits Committee – no report
Middle States – Karen updated the council. Middle States meets on Friday, December 7th so she will have additional info for us next month. The self-study for MS is due by September and the Head of the Visiting Committee is due here on 11/18/08
Faculty Council – Also meets on December 7
Service Committee – Dan Botting updated us on the CLOUT toy drive – see announcements
Picnic Committee – Carol Turco and Betsy Garti volunteered to co-chair the Picnic committee this year. Suggestions were made to have a Holiday theme – Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa – all rolled up into a Holiday in June theme. This will be further discussed at future meetings.

Guest Speaker: Lisa Bardill Moscaritolo – Dean for Students, Westchester

Handles SDACA, Residential Life, Housing, the Counseling Center and the Diversity Program
Working on student retention and getting students to stay on campus on weekends
Discussed First Alert – helping students who may have fallen through the cracks – urged all council members to report any problems they may encounter with students to her office
They are currently reviewing the discipline process
Discussed Relay for Life – from Friday, April 24 – 9 PM through Saturday at 11 AM - possibility of the Council getting a team together for the event
