Educational Leadership–School District Business Leader, MSEd, and Master in Public Administration, MPASCHOOLS NEED LEADERS: HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF PUBLIC EDUCATION
The ever-changing demands on our public schools require administrative leaders who can successfully manage vital business function and resources to educate our youth. To become a certified School District Business leader, a candidate must hold a master’s degree and then enroll in an MSEd program in educational leadership, with a SDBL focus.
The Pace University MSEd in Educational Leadership– School District Business Leader and Master in Public Administration (MPA) program is for candidates who do not currently hold a master’s degree. The program, offered in partnership with the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCSE Center for Educational Leadership, prepares you to become a flexible, visionary, and reflective school business leader with the skills necessary to create and sustain financial and operational functions within a school district to help ensure the quality of learning for all students.
This 60-credit program, which is offered online, will lead to a dual master’s degree in Educational Leadership (with a specialization in School District Business Leadership) and in Public Administration. Candidates elect to complete either a programmatic track in government or non-profit management as part of their MPA studies, to gain knowledge in efficient organizational operations. This program includes a 600-hour internship to prepare candidates for success on the required New York State Certification Examination for School District Business Leader.
A new cohort will begin September 2014. Discounted tuition for this program will reflect a 20% reduction of Pace University tuition.
