Updates Related to COVID-19

The University stores, operated by Barnes and Noble will re-open in the fall with strict guidelines requiring customers to wear face coverings and follow directional signs for shopping and purchasing items. Customers will be encouraged to only touch items they will purchase and maintain a distance of at least six feet from other shoppers. In addition, there will be limits to how many customers enter the store at a given time. Students will not be able to personally shop for their textbooks (Pleasantville and White Plains store, NY store is a spirit shop only).

Sales associates will manage the textbook distribution for all, which allows for counter pickup only. Pace branded face coverings will be available for purchase in all locations. Disposable gloves will be made available for customers who would like to utilize them. Hand sanitizer will be placed at entrance/exit and other locations within the store. Store hours will be adjusted to enable stores to minimize staff on campus.

Each location will be setup to maximize social distancing:

  • Stores will be outfitted for sneeze guards, which will place a barrier between the staff and the customer.
  • A touchless payment system will be implemented.
  • One direction shopping aisles will be labeled and monitored.
  • Signage will showcase social distancing guidelines, shopping rules and CDC guidelines.
  • The stores will be prepped for line control (markings, tape, etc.).
  • Online textbook sales will be encouraged.
