Alumna Tiffany Alvarez Presents at 22nd Annual APAO Symposium

Pace University-Lenox Hill Hospital PA Program recent graduate, Tiffany Alvarez, presented her poster, “Promising Anti-Cancer Properties of Metformin: A Novel use for a New Drug” at The Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology (APAO) 22nd Annual Oncology Symposium in Boston, Massachusetts from August 29 - September 1. The presentation was completed as an independent research project with faculty advisor Agnes Compagnone, MS, PA-C. Clinical Associate Professor, Kate Kunstel, MMSc, PA-C was an invited speaker at the Symposium and presented on Oncologic Emergencies on the Oncology 101 Track. Professor Kunstel also serves on the APAO conference planning committee. Clinical year student, Joseph Martone, PA-S also participated in the Symposium.The APAO offers free membership to students and has many opportunities for student engagement and participation.
